I have toyed with the idea of starting a blog for a while but have never been brave enough to take the plunge. Now with career break in progress and travel plans underway I find myself with both the time and inclination – hopefully some interesting stories will fall out of that!
A few years ago I switched to buying organic (fruit, vegies, meat, eggs, milk etc) and I source my water from a guy whose property Glider Springs is way up in the mountains adjacent to a national park, high in minerals, and of course fluoride free.
More recently I have become intrigued about the healing power of our food and in particular the amazing health improvements that come from a raw food diet. At some point in the coming months I am going to tackle a ‘One Month Raw’ project and will blog about my experiences.
I’m not a nutritionist or a scientist or a medical professional. What I am is curious. How can I make my body feel more awesome today? I love to try new things and I continually ask questions, read books and learn. I’m not a sit around and watch telly kinda girl.
I love travel as much as I love eating, and luckily for me they go perfectly together! The travel bug is part of my genetic makeup I think. When I was 15 years old I came into an $800 inheritance from my Scottish grandmother. My younger brother invested his in shares (he’s now a financial advisor!) and I went on my first overseas trip, to New Caledonia. Nothing makes me happier than travelling.
Travel is the best perspective expanding experience there is. It exposes you to new taste sensations, customs and languages. It also serves up a heart-warming array of quirky and inspiring characters that collide with your world for a while to enlighten and entertain.
Hopefully this post sets the scene for what you will find on my blog. There are millions of blogs out there so I’m grateful that you have stopped by my little cyber couch.
