MAGICAL MALENY WEEKEND TOUR
Saturday 23-Sunday 24 APRIL 2016 (ANZAC WEEKEND)
Join me for a MAGICAL weekend away to explore beautiful Maleny in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Sit back, relax and let me show you this charming rural village…
Departing from Brisbane the tour includes a fun-tastic Farm Tour at Maleny Dairies, where you will see the cow to bottle production on this wonderful family farm. Say hello to lots of cute farm animals, enjoy the beautiful green countryside and breathe in that fresh country air. Best of all you get to taste their award winning dairy products including delicious custard and yoghurt, yummy!
We will also meet Sally and Peter, Australia’s first certified organic feijoa growers who will give us a tour around their farm Hinterland Feijoas What’s a feijoa I hear you ask? It’s a fragrant green sub- tropical tree fruit with a creamy sweet jelly centre – hard to describe the taste – but I can’t get enough of them! (Growing up in New Zealand I remember nearly every backyard had a feijoa tree but they’re not very common here in Australia).
We will be staying at the historic Maleny Lodge in the heart of town. Originally named ‘Rosedale’, Maleny Lodge was built around 1905 by Mr A. Cooke for his family. This grand old Queenslander was an impressive residence (and one of the very first in Maleny). The Cooke Family were an integral part of the town’s early progress and Cooke Park, on the main street in Maleny, was dedicated by the children of Mr & Mrs Cooke to the memory of their parents. This quaint colonial-style building is now heritage listed, and you will feel like you have stepped back in time… we will enjoy a lovely breakfast on the balcony.
Our accommodation is walking distance to the wonderful boutique shops on Maple Street. In your free time you can explore the art galleries, craft and clothing shops, and cafes. We recommend a visit to Pallet Life Artisan Market, David Linton’s timber store, and make sure you try an award-winning gelato from Colin James Fine Foods.

Why am I running this tour?
Organising a tour like this is a big commitment, so you might be wondering why I’m doing this – well I can tell you now, we all need a break – and I know how much fun a weekend away can be! I know this is how I can make a difference, by giving you an easy way to have a little weekend adventure so you can recharge your batteries and have some fun. I’m giving you the gift of ‘me time’ and I reckon my Magic Maleny tour ticks all the boxes – fabulous food, farmers, beautiful scenery and good company. Plus you’ll have some free time to explore the beautiful boutique shops in Maleny township. I’ve had lots of gals tell me that they would like to get away more, but they just don’t have the time to organise it (or they don’t want to travel on their own). So I’ve done all the hard work, I’ve spent several weekends exploring Maleny and it really is a magical place – I can’t wait to show you around! And you’re in great hands – I worked with a travel company as a Tour Manager in London, so I have lots of experience taking people away for wonderful holidays!
5 Reasons you need to book your place NOW:
- This is my first Eat Well Travel Often Weekend tour so I am keeping it small, which means places are limited – seats will sell out!
