Happy New Year to you!
Here we are, 2014! Massive thank yous for joining me back here as a sparkling, fresh year of possibility stretches out before us – how exciting!!
I was lucky enough to spend most of last year following my bliss and ‘eating well and travelling often’, and I intend to keep doing that in 2014 – however I will be building it in around a more grounded lifestyle (I have to go back to work at some point I guess – hmmm or do I?). Not one to settle for less than I want, my mission this year is to keep chasing the joy of travel, whether that’s by dreaming, planning or actually visiting new places.
I don’t really do New Year’s Resolutions, but I do like to pitch myself ideas for the year, like – try a new recipe every week, or – try something new every day… actually I’m rolling both of those over again for this year, they are perfect for me.
I have never been happier, and I have realised the more ‘me’ I allow myself to be, the better my life becomes. I’ve discovered the other crucial elements for a happy life are letting go of judgement (do this by putting yourself in their shoes), and letting go of things needing to be a certain way.
Expectation kills joy. When you need something to be a certain way, it puts a box around it, and stifles other possibilities. When you let go, a wonderful sense of ease takes over and life begins to flow, moving you forward with a gentle softness – life isn’t meant to be hard, the only one making it hard is you.
So how can you make 2014 your best year ever?
- Remove the boxes you put around yourself/others – create space for possibility
- Let go of judgement and expectation
- Try something new every day
- Eat Well and Travel Often
All the very best for the year ahead, create it, own it, work it baby!
It means a lot to know you are reading this, please leave me a comment of encouragement if you would enjoy more blog posts from me in 2014
