Someone recently recommended the Greenhouse Factory to me – so yesterday I went to check it out. I was impressed and thought you might like to know about it too 🙂
The menu at Greenhouse Factory is 100% plant based, vegan, with a focus on raw, organic and locally sourced produce.
The café has been open for 6 months, and one thing it seems to have going for it is you can pretty much rock up and get a seat any time of the day (unlike some overly popular cafes where you have to queue to get in, not willing to do that, sorry!)
I ordered a Classic banana smoothie from their Superfood Smoothie list, with organic banana, almond milk, nutmeg, maple and cinnamon. It was lovely, although they used frozen bananas which made it more like a banana ice cream, and I probably wouldn’t have ordered it if I had known it was icy cold as my belly prefers me to avoid freezing food.
I also tried their Raw Trifle, which was made up of fresh fruit, raw granola and vanilla cashew cream. Layered in a glass jar the trifle was delicious, the cashew cream really offset the tangy fresh fruit (strawberries, banana, dragon fruit, grapes, melon, and pineapple). The granola was made of sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, pepitas, buckwheat, chia seeds and raisins.
Other offerings on their menu included; stuffed sweet potatoes with chipotle black bean corn salsa, raw pad thai, dirty chai dandelion latte, and the Greenhouse Elixir cold pressed juice (kale, apple, cucumber, celery, lemon, parsley).
As well as a good size dining area inside, there is a deck so you can sit and watch the world go by outside, lovely when the sun is out, and only a hop skip and jump away from the beach.
Open late with a fully licensed bar, I will be bringing my boyfriend back one night to enjoy a yummy and very healthy dinner & dessert here. Can’t wait!
